This month’s AFTW meeting focused heavily on safety considerations for practice Instrument procedures at CGZ and Coolidge.

Pilots should remember to report cardinal direction, distance, and ETA (the latter due to the wide variety of different aircraft speeds in uncontrolled airspace).

Efforts are underway to provide more formalized presentation and training on these procedures.

Meantime, get ready for new Airmen Certification Standards coming out next month. A FAAST seminar New Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and Local Topics FAASTeam Flight Instructor Open Forum is scheduled for  March 23 at Transpac at DVT.

Details are here in the AFTW events listings.

The next AFTW meeting is May 10 at the Scottsdale FSDO. Watch for an event posting with more details.
