Airports: The AWOS at Coolidge (P08) was noted as OTS without explanation. NOTAMS on 13 Nov showed: !PRC 11/064 P08 SVC AUTOMATED WEATHER BROADCAST SYSTEM OUT OF SERVICE 1411121630-1412032100EST.

CTAF frequencies can become very busy especially when an approach procedure is associated with an airport. Keep transmissions brief and on target so all users can communicate for safety.

 Airspace:

Airspace designations are not static. There are some changes in E airspace and airport frequencies in AZ that may impact your activity. Use current charts and databases. Check NOTAMS.

An electronic chart not available or missing from EFB is the Grand Canyon Area Chart. How can this be placed in a cue to become available? Who are action agents?

Operations and Processes:

Key accident causes are reported in NTSB and FAA reports as Loss of Control (LOC), Weather, and Maintenance decisions by pilots. FAASafety.gov and NTSB (http://www.ntsb.gov/safety/mwl.html)

Airman Certification Standards are continuing to develop. This includes the knowledge and practical test process. Learning about these and participating in the process will be important to all instructors and schools.
